The Wilmington Police Department is advising citizens as well as business owners of a recent increase in commercial burglaries throughout various geographic boundaries in the City of Wilmington. The burglary suspect (s) have gained entry into the secured establishments by breaking windows. Once inside, the suspect (s) remove cash, cash boxes, or cash registers, as well as other loose items of value. These incidents have occurred during the over night hours. The Wilmington Police Department is advising commercial property owners to remove any cash from the establishment at closing, and for citizens to report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity by calling 911, the non-emergency telephone number at 302-654-5151, or  text 888777.
