On Monday, August 15, 2016 at 12:12 PM, CPD officers were dispatched to the Square Deal Market located in the 600 block of Dairy Avenue regarding two subjects who cashed fictitious checks.  Officers interviewed the store owner who advised two cashed checks were returned from their bank. The owner advised the two cashed payroll checks were from a business in Bakersfield, CA with a closed account.  The two subjects were identified as Adela Jacuinde (age 28) from Corcoran, CA and Christina Luna (age 41) from Hanford, CA.  Jacuinde and Luna had cashed the two fictitious checks at the store totaling $1,700.00. On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at approximately at 1:34 PM, CPD officers contacted and arrested Jacuinde and Luna at a residence in the 1600 block of Earl Avenue.  Both were charged with burglary to a business and passing a fictitious check.  A records check showed that Jacuinde and Luna also had active Kings County Sheriff’s Office warrants.  Jacuinde and Luna were both booked at the Kings County Jail in Hanford, CA each with a total bail amount of $50,000.00
