On August 19th, 2016 at approximately 2:20 AM dispatch received the report of multiple shots fired in the area of Prescott Rd and W Rumble Rd. Shortly after, additional calls came in reporting a collision at Prescott Rd and Mt. Vernon Rd, after what sounded like vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officers and Emergency Personnel responded and located a 1998 Honda Civic, with catastrophic damage, on the west side of Prescott Rd south of Mt. Vernon Dr. Evidence on scene suggested the vehicle was hit with gunfire at some point. This vehicle was determined to have been stolen prior in Modesto.

Officers located the driver, a 17 year old Hispanic male Modesto resident, who appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle.
