EVACUATIONS LIFTED - Pointe Fire Spring Valley

Firefighters are making great progress in the Pointe Fire near the 2900 block of Pointe Parkway in Spring Valley. Limited evacuation notices are NOW LIFTED. If you evacuated, you may now return home. Please slow down for firefighters still working in the area.

San Diego County is under a Red Flag Warning through Thursday. Red Flag means weather conditions are ripe for a wildfire. You can help prevent wildfires.

What can you do?
*Be vigilant - if you smell smoke or see a fire, call 9-1-1
*Do not burn trash
*Do not throw cigarette butts onto the ground or out of moving cars.
*Avoid using outdoor cooking equipment or grills during these times.
*Avoid using a lawn mower or weed whacker for now; both equipment can cause sparks which will start fires.
*Keep cars parked on driving surfaces and do not drive through tall grass. Catalytic converters are known for sparking fires on the grass below.
*Pulling a trailer? Make sure your chains are not touching the ground.
