Advisory

RPD-Community Advisory-

Riverside Residents

This past weekend Riverside Police officers arrested a 30 year-old male from Cicero on two counts of Disorderly Conduct. This case involved juveniles and the community should be aware of this incident.

In May 2016, at about 7:30 p.m., the male tried to lure two female juveniles into his car, on the 3000 block of Harlem, with cigarettes and alcohol. The juveniles are from Brookfield and Riverside and 12 and 14 years old.

There was no connection to any incident on Riverside school grounds.

The girls did not get into the offender's car and had no physical contact with him. One victim was able to snap a photo and some video of the car and that led officers to an arrest after a three month investigation. Detectives worked during that time to enhance the photo and video in order to get a license plate that led them to an arrest.

Respectfully,

Thomas Weitzel
Chief of Police
