Helendale - Charles Griffin arrested for possession of burglary tools, under the influence of a controlled substance

INCIDENT: POSSESSION OF BURGLARY TOOLS/ UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE/ POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS PARAPHERNALIA
SUSPECT(S): Charles William Griffin, age 26 of Helendale
SUMMARY:
On Monday, August 15, 2016, at approximately 12:05am, Deputy Nicholas Sewell made contact with a subject walking in the area of Vista Road and Lakeview Drive in Silver Lakes.
The subject, identified as Charles William Griffin, was wearing camouflage clothing, black gloves and carrying a backpack flashlight. Griffin was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and a methamphetamine pipe was located in his pants pocket. During a search of his backpack, Deputy Sewell located tools commonly used in the commission of a burglary.
Charles William Griffin was arrested on the above charges and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
