Armed Robbery Press Release

On Saturday, August 13, 2016, at approximately 9:15 PM, officers responded to a call of an armed robbery at Trader Joes, located on the 700 block of Menlo Avenue, in the City Menlo Park.

During the investigation, Officers determined that two suspects had entered Trader Joe’s after the business had closed. The two suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts and facemasks. Once inside, the suspects ordered employees at gun point to lie face down on the ground while demanding money.

Both suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Menlo Park PD Officers, along with Officers from outside agencies, searched the area attempting to locate the suspects, but were unsuccessful.

Suspect #1 was described as a Polynesian male. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white sweatpants and a white facemask.

Suspect #2 was described as a Polynesian male. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, matching grey sweatpants and white facemask.
