* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... NORTHWESTERN TANGIPAHOA PARISH IN SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA... ST. HELENA PARISH IN SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA... SOUTHEASTERN AMITE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI... SOUTHWESTERN PIKE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI...

* UNTIL 1215 PM CDT

* AT 909 AM CDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED HEAVY RAIN...SIGNIFICANT FLOODING AND WATER RESCUES UNDERWAY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN 8 AND 12 INCHES OF HAVE FALLEN OVERNIGHT. FLASH FLOODING IS ALREADY OCCURRING. THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR LOCATIONS ALONG I-55 BETWEEN OSYKA AND AMITE CITY...AND ALONG AND AROUND HIGHWAY 10 THROUGH GREENSBURG. THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE... GREENSBURG...AMITE...AMITE CITY...MAGNOLIA...KENTWOOD...ROSELAND... OSYKA...EASLEYVILLE...DARLINGTON...GILLSBERG...WILMER... TANGIPAHOA AND MCCOMB AIRPORT. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA THROUGH 1215 PM.
