Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of Michael Anthony Brooks Jr. of Apple Valley

INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation
LOCATION: 12600 Block of Apple Valley Road, Apple Valley
VICTIM: Michael Anthony Brooks Jr., 54 years old, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at approximately 6:38 a.m. deputies from the Town of Apple Valley responded to a medical aid call at a residence on Apple Valley Road. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Michael Brooks suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Brooks was pronounced deceased at the residence.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to the location and conducted a death investigation. During the investigation, detectives learned the wounds were not self-inflicted. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, and the investigation is ongoing.
