Unincorporated area of Apple Valley - Mario Lopez arrested after attempting to drive a stolen car around road closure

LOCATION: Road Closure at Deep Creek Road/Rock Springs Road, unincorporated area of Apple Valley
SUSPECTS: Mario Lopez, age 37 a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the suspect, Mario Lopez, attempted to drive a black Cadillac around the road closure at Deep Creek Road and Rock Springs Road. When deputies made contact with the suspect, he was found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. While doing a records check of the vehicle, deputies found that the vehicle had been reported stolen. Lopez also had an active no bail warrant for a probation violation.
Mario Lopez was arrested, transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for possession of stolen property and no bail warrant for probation violation.
