INCIDENT: Murder Investigation

LOCATION: 25000 block of Avenida Laredo, Barstow

VICTIM: Samantha Jean Hedger, 22, resident of Phelan

SUSPECT: Joshua Inscho, 23, resident of Victorville

SUMMARY:
On Saturday, August 7, 2016 at 2:22 a.m. Barstow deputies and paramedics responded to the 25000 block of Avenida Laredo reference a report of a gunshot victim. The victim, later identified as Samantha Hedger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators responded to conduct the investigation,

Homicide Investigators determined the victim and suspect, (her step-brother) went to a party at the location and while there, Inscho was involved in an argument with another male. During the argument, Inscho pulled out a handgun, and pointed it at another party goer. At that time the victim and another person grabbed Inscho and he fired the gun striking the victim. Inscho fled from the location in a vehicle. Barstow deputies, Victorville Deputy Higuera and K9 Raider, CHP and Specialized Enforcement units searched the area and located Inscho hiding in a storm drain just after 9:00 a.m. Inscho was taken into custody without incident and will be booked for PC187- Murder.
