Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Friday, August 5, 2016, at 5:44 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 110^th Street, unincorporated area of Los Angeles.

Homicide detectives learned South Los Angeles Station deputies responded to a “gunshot victim” call at the location.  When the deputies arrived, they found the victim lying on the porch of the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. 

According to several witnesses, the victim was sitting on the porch watching his 12-year old son and some other kids being taught some football drills by other adults at the location.  Suddenly a car pulls up and stops in front of the residence.  A lone male black exits the passenger side of the car, and walks up to the victim and shoots him several times.  As the adults and children ran for cover, the suspect got back into the car and drove away west on 110^th street.

The victim, a male black, 45-years old, who does not live at the location, was pronounced dead at the scene.   

The suspect was described as a male black in his 20’s, wearing a gray hoodie type jacket. 

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
