FINAL REMINDER FOR TONIGHTS EVENT
The Monterey Park Police Department has an important message for the community!
On Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016, neighborhoods throughout the City of Monterey Park are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “33rd Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Monterey Park Police Department, will involve over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, United States territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, over 34 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime”.
Come join us for an evening with the police department, including educational activities, displays from our Special Response Team, K9 Unit, Community Relations Bureau, Animal Control and members of the Monterey Park Fire Department and Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.).
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Increase crime prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and relationships in, local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; (4) Send a message to criminals by letting them know that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
On August 2nd, residents in neighborhoods throughout Monterey Park and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.
