Carson Deputies Rescue Two From Structure Fire

On Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 0537 hours, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the 1200 block of Elsmere Drive in the city of Carson regarding a house fire.  Deputies learned two occupants were trapped inside.  The deputies and LACO Fire personnel removed security bars from a rear window and rescued the trapped occupants.  One occupant was not breathing, but was revived by LACO Fire paramedics.  The prognosis for the victims is unknown at this time.

One deputy is being treated for smoke inhalation.  Several other deputies and one LACO firefighter are being examined as a precaution.  The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.  The quick action by Los Angeles County deputies and Los Angeles County Fire personnel, while placing themselves in harm’s way, undoubtedly saved lives.  This example of heroism is a reflection of the dedication to the communities Carson Station serves, representing the core values of the Department to the highest degree.
