VICTIM: Confidential

SUMMARY:
On July 25, 2016, at approximately 1:17 am the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station received a 9-1-1 call from the victim’s residence regarding a runaway juvenile. The reporting party stated her 16-year-old granddaughter was in the downstairs portion of her residence packing clothes when she heard her arguing with a male. The male, who was later identified as Logan Padberg, was asked to leave the residence. Padberg left the residence with the 16-year-old victim. After the two left, the victim’s grandmother contacted deputies to report her as a runaway.

Deputies from the Twin Peaks station responded and checked a few locations Padberg is known to frequent. While deputies were checking for Padberg and the victim, a 911 came into Sheriff’s dispatch reporting a male dragging a female into the woods. The witness was sleeping and was woken up by a female screaming for help. He looked outside and saw a male holding a flashlight and dragging a female off into the woods by her hair. The witness immediately called 911 to report the incident. Deputies responded to the scene in the 26000 block of Lake Forest Drive at approximately 2:38 a.m. and deputies saw fresh prints and drag marks and followed them as far as they could. Twin Peaks deputies called for the Sheriff’s K-9 unit to respond in order to track the subjects. Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Josh Stone and bloodhound Deja responded. With a few scent articles collected from the victim’s residence, Deja was able to track the victim to a residence in the 26000 block of Boulder Lane, Twin Peaks. Both the victim and Padberg were found inside the residence. Padberg was taken into custody without incident and the victim was released to her mother.

Padberg was arrested and transported to the Central Detention Center and booked for PC 207, Kidnapping, PC 273.5 Domestic Battery, PC 261.5 Unlawful Sex with a Minor.
