On Monday, July 18, 2016, Corcoran Police Officers witnessed a Ford Mustang leaving the area in which they were conducting an investigation. Officers identified Salazar Rafael as the driver and knew he had a suspended license. Officers also saw a person in the back seat attempting to hide. A traffic stop was attempted; however, the Mustang fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle drove through city streets before taking a dirt farm road. Due to the potential increased danger the pursuit was terminated.
Officers later received information that the Kings County Sheriff’s Office had located the Mustang abandoned near Stratford, CA. Corcoran Police Department issued a Be On the Lookout for Rafael Salazar.
On July 20, 2016, Kings County Sheriff’s Deputies located Rafael at the Lemoore Gaming Casino. Rafael was taken into custody. During his arrest, Salazar was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Salazar was arrested for the vehicle pursuit, possession of methamphetamine and for a violation of his probation. Salazar was booked into the Kings County Jail and held on a 45,000 dollar bail
