Cooling centers are available during extreme heat conditions. 
Should residents need access to a cooling center, there are two locations available in the City of Lockport. They are:
Central Square (Ground Floor Lobby)

7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
These locations will be open during normal business hours, but if circumstances require the opening of an emergency shelter (i.e., power outage), residents will be notified of the location of the emergency shelter at that time.
If residents are unable to transport themselves to the location of their choice, they should contact the Lockport Police Department at 815-838-2131 for assistance.
Citizens with pets should contact the facility before arrival to determine their individual pet policies.
