Both the Whitley County Government Ctr. located at 220 West Van Buren Street and the Columbia City Fire Department located at 112 S Chauncey St. will have rooms available to the public as “cooling stations” during the extreme hot weather expected over the next few days.

The Conference Room A&B located in the lower at the Government Ctr. and the Fire Department training room will be open from 8am-5pm Wednesday - Friday to provide a cool place to the public to seek shelter from the heat.

This is a good time to also check on your neighbors if they are elderly or have young children to make sure they are staying cool and hydrated.
