Hit-and-Run Results in Man’s Death in Lancaster- #LASD Lancaster Traffic Investigates @LANLASD

Traffic investigators from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding a hit-and-run traffic collision that resulted in a pedestrian being killed in Lancaster Saturday night. The incident occurred on Avenue I at the intersection of 28th Street East, at approximately 9:00PM.  

Preliminary information gathered at the scene revealed the victim, a male-Adult, was walking southbound across Avenue I, at 28th Street East, while the suspect was driving east on Avenue I.  This intersection is controlled on 28th Street East with posted stop signs.  According to witnesses, the suspect was driving a gold or burgundy GMC van, similar to an “Astro Van.”  The suspect collided with the pedestrian and then fled the scene.  The suspect’s vehicle has damage to the front end including a broken passenger side headlight.

The victim was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where he passed away from his injuries. The victim’s identity will not be released at this time.
