7/16/16 at 12:55 a.m. Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 600 block of Stephens Dr. in South Bakersfield. It was reported approximately 150 people were attending a party at a residence in the neighborhood. While numerous party goers were standing in the street and to the front of the residence, a vehicle with an unknown number of occupants drove past the residence. As the vehicle drove past occupants inside the vehicle began shooting into the crowd of people. In total, 14 people were shot. Their injuries included gunshot wounds to the arms, legs and chest. Two people suffered critical gunshot wounds but are expected to survive. All 14 shooting victims were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for treatment. Currently there is no suspect or suspect vehicle information and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is currently on going.
