The Southern Pines Police Department
Announces A Police and Community Initiative
“Hope To Officers” (H2O)

The Southern Pines Police Department is pleased to announce the community initiative “Hope To Officers” (H2O). The Southern Pines Police Department recognizes that community acceptance and support of law enforcement is paramount to the success of any police agency. A profound respect for a great police department by the community empowers police officers to uphold the values of Service, Protection, Professionalism and Dedication.

To present an opportunity to both thank, and motivate a police officer, the Southern Pines Police Department has launched a community oriented initiative, which has grown to be known as H20 (Hope To Officers). On Friday, July 15, 2016, a table has been placed in front of the Southern Pines Police Department located at 450 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, along with cases of water, note paper and pencils. The community is encouraged to stop, write a note of support for an officer and affix it to a bottle of water. The water, along with the notes attached, will be refrigerated and subsequently taken by a Southern Pines Police Officer on patrol as they serve our great community. Each note left will be placed by an officer in a prominent place in their patrol vehicle as a reminder that a great majority of our community does support our law enforcement officers.

Chief Bob Temme made the following comments about this initiative:

“Currently, law enforcement agencies are caught in a period of unusual certainty, with a range of problems confronting police both internally and externally. During this heightened time of insecurity, it is important for our officers to know that the law abiding citizens of our community stand with them as these brave officers risk their lives keeping to their sworn oath of office and continuing to make a difference in our community.”

The Southern Pines Police Department would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those members of our community that have already taken the time to express their gratitude and support of the Southern Pines Police Department.

The H2O (Hope To Officers) initiative will run from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, starting Friday, July 15, 2016, and ending Monday, July 17, 2016 at the Southern Pines Police Department, 450 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
