SUN PRAIRIE, WIS. — July 7, 2016— The City will be facilitating the Sun Prairie Area Transportation Summit on Wednesday, August 31st at 4:30 PM at the Colonial Club. The purpose of the Summit is to bring together the various stakeholders who are interested in transportation issues within the City of Sun Prairie and the region.

“Over 150 invitations were distributed to area businesses, government officials, civic groups, and other community stakeholders. The Summit offers the opportunity for stakeholders to provide their feedback regarding Sun Prairie’s current transportation system. We will also determine areas where improvements can be made and begin the process of identifying community resources to address this critical issue. There is a significant amount of interest regarding this event and we look forward to a successful summit.” – Aaron Oppenheimer, City Administrator.

“During my tenure as Council President, enhancements to Sun Prairie’s multi-modal transportation system will be a significant focus. At the Transportation Summit, we will solicit interest from attendees on serving on a Transportation Steering Committee, which I will chair, focused on identifying transportation issues and offering recommendations to improve the system to the City Council. I looked forward to robust discussions at these meetings and providing a comprehensive report to the City’s elected leaders” – Al Guyant, City Council President
