Attempted Murder Arrest

On July 13, 2016 at about 12:30 a.m., San Luis Obispo police officers were dispatched to the area of the 200 block of Higuera to investigate a stabbing that just occurred.

When they arrived officers located a 22 year old male victim lying in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Parker. The victim was receiving basic first aid from witnesses prior to the arrival of SLO Fire and San Luis Ambulance personnel. Witnesses were located who were able to positively identify the suspect as Bradley Everett Porter. It was reported that Porter had been in an altercation with a female subject prior to the stabbing and the victim tried to intervene. It was at that time the victim was stabbed by Porter. Porter had fled prior to the arrival of the police.

While the victim was being evaluated by paramedics it was determined he had been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The victim’s injuries were serious in nature but not considered life threating.

At about 2:30 am officers located Porter walking near Higuera and Elks. Porter was taken into custody without incident. Porter was later transported to San Luis Obispo County Jail and booked for PC 664/187- Attempted Murder. His bail was set at 500k.
