Fruitport Police Department investigating an Unarmed Robbery at The Lakes Mall. 
On Monday July 11th at 3:15pm, Fruitport Police Department responded to The Lakes Mall, 5600 Harvey Street, after receiving a 9-1-1 call of a shoplifting in progress. The suspect, after physically resisting Loss Prevention employees, exited the mall where he forced his way into a vehicle being driven by a 43 year old female. The suspect then drove the vehicle approximately 1 mile where he stopped and told the victim to exit the car. The victim was not injured and the vehicle was recovered a short time later.
Investigators have video surveillance of the male suspect and are working to confirm his identity. Officers were assisted by the Norton Shores Police Department.
No other information is being released at this time.
