On June 21. 2016, the Compton Youth Activities League was privileged to take more than 100 kids to the Tanaka Farms Strawberry picking.  The kids were able to taste many of the homegrown vegetables from the farm.  They included Green Beans, Carrots, Cilantro, Onions, corn and strawberry.   During the trip, the kids were able to run across the strawberry field and collected and eat as many strawberries as they can.  This was the highlight point for many kids, especially when they were able to run and eat the strawberries.  At the end of the day, the kids left home with a strawberry case.  

Our mission is to build morale, self-confidence and to promote health and wellness among the students.  It will give our youth an opportunity to learn about where food comes from and agriculture science.
