UPDATE:#LASD Homicide Dets Assist El Monte PD w/ Shooting Death Investigation, Cogswell Rd/Klingerman St, El Monte 

Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives are continuing to assist El Monte Police Department investigate an apparent road-rage incident, Saturday night, that left one man dead in El Monte.

Detectives learned that at approximately 7:08pm, the victim, who was a passenger in a truck, was involved in an argument with the suspect (s) in another vehicle. The argument escalated and a suspect shot the victim in the upper torso, then fled the scene.

The victim, a male-Hispanic, 23-years-old, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The suspect-vehicle, occupied by at least two male-Hispanic adults, was described as a dark-colored SUV, possibly a “Dodge.”

There is no further information at this time.

SUSPECT:  Unknown

UNIT: LASD Homicide – Lieutenant Rosson

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are responding to the intersection of Cogswell Road and Klingerman Street, El Monte, to assist El Monte Police Department personnel to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There is no additional information at this time and the investigation is on-going.
