EVACUATIONS:

Approximately 250 homes and 700 residents have been affected by the “Sage Fire” as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.

Residents in the Stevenson Ranch area in the city of Santa Clarita who live on or near Autumn Place, Magnolia Road, Shady Glen Court, Oakridge Road, Brighton Place, and Morning Mist Drive have been evacuated from their homes.

In addition to Santa Clarita Station deputies, Temple Station, Walnut Station, South Los Angeles Station, and Lomita Station personnel have been deployed to the fire with deputies securing the evacuated areas and road closures.

Updated evacuation numbers are as follows:

In the city of Santa Clarita our major area of concern continues to be the Stevenson Ranch residential area. We currently have Deputies on patrol on “fire watch” to assist in spotting fire in case the wind shifts towards this residential area.

There are no other mandatory evacuations required at this time. However, that can change based on the conditions of the fire.

We ask that the residents near Stevenson Ranch area remain vigilant and ensure they are prepared for evacuations in the event they become necessary. They are not needed at this time.

If additional evacuations become necessary, you are reminded to bring medications, important documents, and emergency supplies in case you are away from your residence for a prolonged period.

Those city residents who have evacuated are asked to seek shelter at West Ranch High School, 26255 West Valencia Boulevard, Stevenson Ranch where the Red Cross will be located.

The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control will also be at West Ranch High School 26255 West Valencia Boulevard, Stevenson Ranch for shelter of small animals.

No additional evacuations are necessary at this time.

With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the following Roads are closed:

Los Angeles County deputies will remain in the area to provide security and escorts for fire personnel:

- Assist with notifications and evacuations if they become necessary;

- And assist the community as needed.

They will remain until all evacuations are lifted and the area is reopened. Residents are urged to remain prepared and informed in the event additional evacuations become necessary.
