INCIDENT: Residential Burglary/Theft of Firearms

LOCATION: 100 Block of Erin Drive Needles, Ca

SUSPECT(S): Male juvenile, 14 years of age of Needles

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On July 5, 2016, at approximately 11:53 a.m., deputies from Colorado River/ Needles Station responded to the 100 block of Erin Drive in Needles following the report of a residential burglary that had occurred between the hours of 7:00 a.m., and 10:00 a.m. Two male suspects, one believed to be 14 years of age, had entered the home through an unlocked rear door. Items taken from the home included 3 shotguns, 3 rifles, a 40 cal. handgun and jewelry. The suspects were last seen walking out into the open field west of the residence carrying the objects wrapped in a tan blanket.

Through investigation, detectives identified a 14 year old male juvenile from Needles that matched the description given. On July 8 2016, at approximately 6:50 a.m., the 14 year old male was located, interviewed and subsequently arrested for PC 459 Residential Burglary and PC 487(d)(2) Theft of Firearms. The suspect was transported to the Juvenile Detention Facility in San Bernardino for Residential Burglary and Theft of Firearms. Detectives also learned that the suspect had a "no bail" warrant from a previous burglary charge.

The investigation is ongoing, detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the second suspect and the location of the stolen guns.
