6/29 - Police responded to an address on West Elm Street, for a 9-1-1 hang-up call. While en route they were advised there was now a disturbance at that location. Upon arrival they found there had been an altercation between a father and his 18 year-old adult son. The incident also involved the mother of the father. During the incident the father, without justification, made contact of a physical/provoking nature with his son, causing him to fall to the ground. When the son went to call 9-1-1 the father took the phone from him, preventing the reporting of the incident. The father was taken into custody and transported to the county jail. The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the suspect, Jason N. Peters age 42 of Millstadt, with Domestic Battery & Unlawful Interference with the Reporting of Domestic Violence. His bond was set at $5,000.
