Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a woman and gunshot injuries to a man that occurred on Tuesday, July 6, 2016, at 2:29 a.m. in the 5000 block of Elizabeth Street, Cudahy.

Homicide detectives learned East Los Angeles Station deputies were dispatched to the location in response to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Gunshot” call.  When they arrived they found two victims sitting in the front seats of a vehicle, parked in front of the location, suffering from gunshot wounds. 

A 36-year-old woman had gunshot wounds to her upper torso, and a 26-year-old man had gunshot wounds to his lower extremities.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital where the woman succumbed to her injuries and the male victim was treated for non-life threatening wounds.

At this time there are no further details of the shooting nor a description of the suspect(s).

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are responding to the 5000 block of Elizabeth Street, Cudahy, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a female adult and injuries to a male adult. 

The victims were transported to a local hospital where the female adult was pronounced dead and the male adult received treatment for his injuries.
