Advisory

Help keep Muskegon beaches and parks clean and enjoyable for everyone

With the summer months upon us it is a great time to visit the beach and our wonderful parks in Muskegon with family and friends. As you visit these locations, please keep in mind those that visit after you and help give everyone a wonderful experience by cleaning up and not leaving litter when you depart.

Even beyond that if you see litter that is not your own it would be wonderful to just remove it and place it in the proper litter receptacle so that everyone can experience the clean natural beauty of these areas when they visit Muskegon. If you notice that a receptacle is full, please let a Park’s Department employee know if they are in the area.

Please keep in mind that littering is a citable ordinance violation. Section 70-5(b) states “It shall be unlawful for any person to throw, deposit or leave, or cause or permit the throwing, depositing or leaving, of refuse of any kind, directly or indirectly, on public or private
property or waters, other than property lawfully designated and set aside for such purposes by a
public authority having jurisdiction.”

We ask everyone to please help keep our local beach and parks beautiful for everyone and we wish everyone a wonderful and safe summer.
