A search warrant leads to the discovery of materials used to manufacture pipe-bombs

INCIDENT: Possession of a Destructive Device/Possession of Bomb-Making Materials
LOCATION: Victoria Avenue/Baseline Street, Highland
SUSPECT(S): Michael L Mulcahy, age 62 of Highland
VICTIM(S): City of Highland
SUMMARY: On July 5, 2016, deputies from the Highland Station served a search warrant at a residence at the 28000 block of Tonner Drive in the City of Highland.
Deputies located materials used to manufacture pipe-bombs. Additionally, deputies located a quantity of a dangerous substance commonly used to make exploding targets. Detectives from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Departments Arson/Bomb detail responded to the residence to investigate and remove the materials.
Michael Mulcahy was arrested for felony possession of a destructive device and possession of bomb making materials. Mulcahy was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held on $150,000 bail.
