Ripon 4th of July Celebration

Ripon 4th of July Celebration

Traffic delays and detours should be expected on the 4th of July from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. in the areas surrounding the Mistlin Sports Park complex in Ripon. Roadways that will be affected include River Road, Jack Tone Road, and Fulton Ave. Drivers in these areas should expect heavy traffic, police controlled intersections, and detours.

Ripon Police Department officers will be out in force actively enforcing the law this holiday weekend. The enforcement activity includes locating persons who are in possession of or who are discharging illegal fireworks. The new amendment to the Fireworks Ordinance allows officers to cite persons on private property where illegal fireworks are being discharged from or negligent owners who are present or permit illegal fireworks being discharged from their property. Alcohol, BBQs and personal fireworks are not permitted at the Mistlin Sports Park complex at any time of the year, including the 4th of July. Officers will be conducting ATV and foot patrols of the park to ensure public safety.

Citizens are being encouraged to “Support” local public safety efforts, and to “Report” any observed fireworks violations within the city. Please assist your local police and fire departments by making this 4th of July weekend a safe and sane holiday.
