RPD-Community Advisory-

Riverside Residents –

We wanted to notify you that on June 25, early Saturday morning (1:08 AM), an officer on residential patrol spotted a suspicious male subject riding a bike at Nuttall and Loudon. The male was dressed in all black, had no lights on his bike, and seemed to be biking aimlessly in the street and in and out of driveways.

When the officer approached this subject, he recognized him from a 2013 burglary arrest. After checking the serial number on the bicycle, it was determined that the bike was stolen three days prior from River Forest; the male was then arrested for bike theft.

This 21 year old male resident of Chicago was arrested in July 2013 by Riverside Police. He was responsible for over 35 car and garage burglaries in Riverside in 2013 and for numerous burglaries in North Riverside. At that time he was sentenced to three years in prison and after his release - he's returned to Riverside and committing the same type of criminal activity.

Presently, this arrestee is being held in custody on a $10,000 bond. It was fortunate that a diligent officer spotted him before he could commit another crime in Riverside.

This information is being released to keep residents updated and informed.
