INCIDENT: Assault with a deadly weapon

LOCATION: Agate Rd, Barstow

SUSPECT: Daune Nelson Brown, 48 year old resident of Barstow

SUMMARY:
On Saturday, June 18, 2016, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Sheriff's dispatch received a call for service advising an unknown suspect was vandalizing the trailer located at the rear of the property. The reporting party told dispatch her brother, Duane Nelson Brown, was checking the property for the suspects.

Deputies from the Barstow Sheriff's Station arrived in the area at approximately 12:04 a.m., and began checking the surrounding properties for possible suspects. Deputy Johnson located the victim on the ground in the desert near the incident location. The victim had stab wounds to the chest, which he sustained during an altercation. The victim was transported to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment. Deputy Hancock escorted the victim to the hospital. Hancock assisted in identifying the suspect throught his contact with the victim.

Through investigation the assault suspect was identified as Duane Nelson Brown. Brown fled the incident location prior to deputies' arrival. Deputies attempted to locate Brown during the investigation. He has yet to be located by Sheriff personnel.
