Heat Alert: High temperatures forecasted for 6/19 - 6/21.

The Los Angeles County Health Officer has declared a Heat Alert as high temperatures have been forecasted for the following areas:

San Gabriel Valley, Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles Basin, Santa Clarita Valley for Sunday, June 19 through Tuesday, June 21.

For a list of Cooling Centers and information on heat-related illnesses and prevention, please visit the Los Angeles County Public Health website at www.publichealth.lacounty.gov or call the information line at 2-1-1.

Extra precautions should be taken with outdoor activities.  Consider scheduling activities for early in the morning or late in the day.

Older adults and individuals with chronic medical conditions should stay in air-conditioned areas during peak heat hours.  If you do not have access to air conditioning in your home, visit public facilities such as cooling centers, shopping malls, parks and libraries to stay cool.

Attached please find a list of Los Angeles County Cooling Centers. If you choose to go to a library listed on the Cooling Centers list, make sure to call first to verify business hours.


Be sure to stay hydrated and make sure pets have adequate water and shade
