Blood Drive and "GoFundMe" Account Created for Injured SVPD Officer

Simi Valley Police Motor Officer Tom Carney was critically injured during an on-duty collision on June 15, 2016. He remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition. He has undergone multiple surgeries over the past few days and will have additional surgeries in the days/weeks to come.

To support his need for blood, members of the Simi Valley Police Department in conjunction with the American Red Cross and supported by the Simi Valley Unified School District have organized a blood drive that will take place as follows:

Date: Tuesday June 21, 2016
Time: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Simi Valley High School, Multi-Purpose Room
5400 Cochran Street, Simi Valley

Anyone interested in donating blood should make an appointment through the following link:

To support the long-term financial needs of Officer Carney’s family, the Simi Valley Police Officers’ Association has created a “GoFundMe” account where donations can be made.

The Simi Valley Police Department as well as the family and friends of Officer Carney are deeply moved by the outpouring of support and concern from the Simi Valley community and surrounding areas during this challenging time.
