The Fairfield Police Department has learned that George Edward Shockley has moved to Fairfield and is living in the 2000 block of Claybank Rd. Mr. Shockley is classified as a high risk sex offender due to his convictions in 1990 of annoying or molesting children under the age of 18 and in 1993 for lewd acts with a child under the age of 14. He is currently on supervised state parole for unrelated charges. The nature of his crimes requires him to register as a sex offender with the Fairfield Police Department every year and when he changes residences.
This information is being released pursuant to Section 290 of the California Penal Code, which is more commonly known as Megan’s Law. This law is not intended to punish the sex registrant, and it should be stressed that it is illegal to use this information to commit a crime against any sex registrant or to engage in illegal discrimination or harassment against any sex registrant. High-risk sex offenders are serious offenders who have been identified by the California Department of Justice as having a high risk of re-offending and who may pose a greater danger to the public than other offenders. Additional access by the public to registered sex offender information can be obtained through the California Sex Offender Registry at www.meganslaw.ca.gov. In an effort to keep our community informed we will provide residents updated information each time Mr. Shockley’s’ residence changes within the City of Fairfield. We understand the concerns of our community and will do everything we can to ensure that our citizens are kept up to date.
George Shockely is described as a Black male with a date of birth of 4/17/67. He has black hair, brown eyes, is 5’9” tall, and weighs 190 lbs. He has a cross tattoo on his left hand and the word “love” tattooed on his right shoulder. A photo of George Shockley is attached.
