#LASD Norwalk Deputy Extricated After Sedan Plows into Patrol Car, Telegraph Rd & Valley View Bl, Unincorp Whittier

On Sunday, June 05, 2016, at 10:50 a.m. a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy (LASD) from Norwalk Station was struck by a Lexus Sedan while driving through the intersection of Telegraph Road and Valley View Boulevard, Unincorporated Whittier.

The deputy was traveling west on Telegraph Road in the number three lane when her patrol vehicle was struck by a Lexus sedan that was making a left turn from eastbound Telegraph Road onto northbound Valley View Boulevard.  The force of the collision then caused the patrol vehicle to strike a signal pole and wrap itself around it.

The deputy was able to initiate a radio broadcast advising LASD personnel of the collision.  Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and extricated the deputy, who was trapped inside the vehicle, before transporting her to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The driver and sole occupant of the Lexus, an elderly female, was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The deputy, a six year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department, was responding to an “audible alarm” call for service when the collision occurred.  She remains in stable condition.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) Santa Fe Springs personnel are investigating the collision and are asking anyone with information to contact the CHP Santa Fe Springs office at (562) 868-0503.  If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), or texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or by using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org
