Drowning Victim’s at Woodward Reservoir Recovered

On Saturday May 28th, 2016, Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 911 call of a possible drowning at Woodward Reservoir just north of Oakdale, CA. When Deputies arrived they learned two 15 year-old boys were on a boat with family members. Several people in the boat jumped into the water, including both boys. When family members got back into the boat they were unable to locate the boys and called 911.

The Sheriff’s Departments Dive Team and Reservoir Deputies conducted dive operations and searches over the next two days, but were been unable to locate the two boys.

On 05-31-16 at approximately 7:30 am, family members of both boys called 911 to report they had seen a body surface at Woodward Reservoir. Deputies responded and recovered the body of one of the boys. At approximately 2:00 pm, the body of the second teen surfaced and he was recovered. Both boys were transported to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s office. The names of both teens are not being released at this time.
