UPDATE: On 05/27/2016 an autopsy was completed on the body found in the water near the Court St. Bridge. The body was positively identified as Janesville missing person, James N Brieske. Family has been notified. There were no indications of foul play.

At approximately 11:00 am Janesville Fire Department personnel were searching the Rock River by boat for a person who was seen jumping off the Centerway Bridge on May 23, 2016. They located a body near the Court St. Bridge on the east side of the river. The body was recovered.
A positive identification has not been made. An autopsy will be conducted.
More information will be released at that time.
