Ripon Massage Parlor Raids Lead To Prostitution Arrests
Detectives from the Ripon Police Department, Special Investigations Unit (SIU) with assistance from an allied agency, conducted undercover operations yesterday at ABC Massage (1222 W. Colony Rd. Suite 110) and Lily Spa (467 N. Wilma Ave #10).
Department spokesperson, Lt. Steve Merchant said undercover operatives responded to each of the businesses and during the course of the investigation they were reportedly propositioned by a masseuse for a sex act. Merchant said this sting operation was part of an ongoing investigation into reports of illegal activities occurring at local massage businesses.
The masseuse at ABC Massage, 55-year-old Cheo Tee Ong of Ripon, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution. She was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on a single misdemeanor charge.
The masseuse at Lilly Spa, 44-year-old Tingye Yang of Modesto, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution. She was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on a single misdemeanor charge.
The name of the allied agency that assisted in the investigation was withheld to protect the integrity of the undercover operatives. Lt. Merchant said due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no further information would be released at this time.
