Ramon Saavedra age 25 is in custody after three unidentified citizens prevented him from kidnapping a mother who was with her children. Dos Palos Police Department responded to the area of California Ave. and Santa Rita St after receiving a 911 call regarding a male assaulting a female. The suspect identified as Ramon Saavedra of Dos Palos, CA was seen fleeing from the area as officers arrived. Saavedra was taken into custody. The mother and her children are safe and children were relieved he was arrested. Saavedra was restrained by court order to stay away from the victim, however, he attempted to force her into his white Chevrolet pick-up. according to witnesses. "Thank you to those three (3) who stopped and got involved. Without your help, this could have turned out a differently." Although a gun was reported, none has been located at this time.
