May 10th

Grand Theft- 1600 Block of Liberty Street
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unsecured delivery truck and removed a box containing cartons of cigarettes. The theft occurred in between 0955-1005 hours.

Warrant Arrest- 10900 San Pablo Avenue
At 1535 hours, a 22 year old female from Vallejo came to the El Cerrito Police Department and turned herself in for an active warrant. An officer took her into custody and booked her. After booking, the female was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifter-1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1641 hours, an officer accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of a 37 year old male from Oakland. The male was detained by loss prevention agents after he left the store with unpaid merchandise. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

At 1813 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 26 year old male out of Utah after he stole food from Luckys. The male was cited and released.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
At 1833 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 56 year old male out of Concord, for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.

Public Intoxication – 9895 San Pablo Ave.
At 1905 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 65 year old male out of Albany after he was found to be extremely intoxicated and belligerent towards staff at Peet’s Coffee. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Mental Health Evaluation – 6500 block of Schmidt Ln.
At 2045 hours, an officer committed a 62 year old female after she took several different pills and drank alcohol in an attempt to end her life. She was sent to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center for a mental evaluation.

Possession of Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave. / Knott Ave.
At 2300 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 48 year old female transient for possession of an opiate pill and drug paraphernalia. She was cited and released.

May 11th

Stolen Vehicle- Potrero Avenue
At hours 0935, an officer noticed a suspicious Honda traveling westbound on Potrero Avenue at S.55th Avenue. While circulating the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle, the officer was flagged down by the victim at S.49th Avenue. and Potrero Avenue. The suspect had collided into the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene. Officers located the suspect hiding in a porch of a house in the 4800 block of Berk Avenue. The Honda was an unreported stolen vehicle from El Cerrito. The 33 year old male from Richmond was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vandalism-11000 Block of San Pablo Avenue
At 1558 hours, an officer reported an unknown suspect used a BB gun and shot out a window to the building.

Vandalism-1300 Block of Club View Drive
An officer reported an unknown suspect drilled three holes into a large Eucalyptus tree. The tree is worth between $6-10K. The incident occurred within the past 30 days.

Mental Health Evaluation- Peet’s Coffee, 9895 San Pablo Avenue
At 1822 hours, an officer was dispatched to a report of a female yelling at employees. The officer responded and contacted a 43 year old transient female who threatened to kill the officer and herself. She was sent to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center for a mental evaluation.

Domestic Battery- 5800 block of Madison Avenue
At 1825 hours, an officer was dispatched to a report of a domestic battery that occurred on 5/2/16. The victim stated her boyfriend of 5 years, a 27 year old male out of El Cerrito, became enraged when he found a scratch on his vehicle. He pushed the victim to the ground and began punching her.

Theft- Staples 11545 San Pablo Avenue
At 2033 hours, an officer was dispatched to Staples for a theft in progress. The officer arrived and accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 53 year old male out of San Francisco for stealing items worth $84.99. He was cited and released.

Warrant Arrest- Dylans Way
At 2228 hours, officers were dispatched to a noise disturbance. An officer contacted a 44 year old male out of Vallejo who was found sleeping in a U-Haul van parked in the area. The male had an outstanding felony warrant for vehicle theft and a misdemeanor warrant for drug charges. He was sent to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Mental Health Evaluation- 1700 block of Walnut Street
At 2245 hours, an officer was dispatched to a report of a female yelling in the area. The officer arrived and located a disturbance at a residence. A female was in a mental health crisis and transported to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- Parking lot of 225 El Cerrito Plaza
At 0304 hours, an officer located a 1999 Honda Civic which was reported stolen out of Berkeley PD.

May 12th

Vandalism-10300 Block of San Pablo Avenue
An officer reported an unknown suspect smashed the window of the front door to business. The incident occurred in between 5/11@2100 and 5/12@0650 hours.

Warrant Arrest-11700 Block of San Pablo Avenue
At 1037 hours, detectives arrested a 28 year old male from Richmond for an active warrant. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Tampering With Vehicle-2300 Block of Cedar Street
An officer reported an unknown suspect enter the victim’s unlock vehicle and ransacked the interior. No property loss reported. The incident occurred in between 5/11@1900-5/12@0810 hours.

Warrant Arrest-San Pablo Avenue/Moeser Lane
At 2005 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 25 year old female out of Oakland for an outstanding Contra Costa County warrant. She was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI Arrest-San Pablo Avenue/Wenk Avenue
At 0156 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 22 year old female out of San Leandro for DUI. She was cited and released.

DUI Arrest/Collison-Central Avenue/San Mateo Street
At 0314 hours, officers were dispatched to a collision involving a single vehicle into a utility pole. Officers arrived on scene and located a 23 year old male from El Cerrito near the collision. The male was identified as the driver by a witness. Following an investigation, the male was arrested and booked for driving under the influence. He was medically cleared, cited and released. PG&E responded to the scene of the collision and determined the utility pole was not a danger.
