Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred in the 1600 block of East Gladwick Avenue, Carson, at approximately 7:45 p.m.

Deputies responded to the location regarding a “gunshot victim” call. Upon their arrival, deputies saw the victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles County Fire Paramedics treated the victim at the scene where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told deputies, that the suspect was driving a 2-door sedan and stopped in front of the victim who was standing with other acquaintances. The suspect was the lone occupant in the vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle and began shooting, striking the victim multiple times in the upper torso.

After the shooting, the suspect returned to the vehicle and drove eastbound on East Gladwick Avenue and out of view.

The motive of the shooting is unknown.
