RPD-Suspicious Subject.

Riverside Residents-

On Wednesday, May 11, at 1:11 p.m., Riverside Police Department received a phone call from District 96 staff at Central School reporting a suspicious person.

It was reported that earlier in the day, around noon, some staff members saw a suspicious male standing across from the playground of Central School. The adult stated that the male appeared to be intrigued with the children playing on the equipment and was staring at them for some time. He also appeared to be concealing his identity when staff members were in the area or walked towards him. The suspect appeared to be attempting to pick something up, which wasn't there, and his behavior was odd.

The subject was described as thin, male, white, about 35-40 years old, with longer, dark hair and wore a grey jacket and brown pants.
At no time did this subject have any contact or conversation with the adults or children.

Riverside Police notified the Patrol Division of the incident and officers are assigned to the school every day at drop off and dismissal. Additionally, extra patrols will be in the area of Central Hauser School during recess as a precautionary measure only.
