El Cerrito Police Department is helping to staff the energizer station at the Plaza BART for Bike to Work Day. 
The El Cerrito Police Department fully supports Bike to Work Day. ECPD has maintained a bicycle patrol program for officers for more than 15 years. We were one of the first in the area and we provide certified training to surrounding police departments on how to patrol on police bicycles.
As part of Bike to Work Day, the ECPD would like to remind everyone to be cautious when approaching intersections. Vehicles and bicycles are required to stop at the marked limit lines for stop signs. Bicyclists are also required to stop at the stop signs/limit lines on the bicycle path which traverses El Cerrito. Pedestrian and bicycle safety is the responsibility of everyone and multi-modal safety is a goal of the El Cerrito Police Department and the City of El Cerrito.
