Students Have Important Questions For Their Police Department 
Recently Mrs. Vander Molen's second grade class at Ripon Christian Elementary School was given an important assignment. The students were asked to send letters to their local police officers, thanking them for their service. A number of students included drawings of smiling officers, patrol cars, and police equipment.
The stack of letters landed on the desk of several high ranking police veterans. As each letter was carefully read, it became evident that the students had some very thoughtful questions for their local police officers.
Officer Paul Staley made contact with Mrs. Vander Molen and he arranged to meet the class and answer their important questions. This morning Officer Staley made a surprise visit to the classroom. The students were able to see a lighter side of police work as a local officer shared his experiences with them.
