*Update* #LASD Homicide – Shooting Death Investigation, 9600 blk Alpaca Street, South El Monte
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult that occurred on Monday, May 9, 2016, at 8:23 a.m. in the 9600 block of Alpaca Street, South El Monte.
Detectives have learned that Temple Station deputies received a call of a “gunshot victim.” When deputies arrived, they found several men holding down a male, Hispanic adult, who had just shot an employee of a local business, “Baby Blue Fashion, Inc.”
Deputies placed handcuffs on the man and recovered a firearm laying nearby that the suspect had used to shoot the victim.
Additional information revealed that the suspect had rode a bicycle to the business this morning and had asked for the victim to come outside of the business. When the victim came outside, the suspect produced a revolver and shot him multiple times.
When coworkers of the victim heard the gunshots, they came outside and wrestled the suspect to the ground. They held him until deputies arrived.
The relationship between the suspect and the victim is unknown, however, a female, Hispanic coworker of the victim has children in common with the suspect. Detectives have not determined if the suspect and the female are estranged.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported and booked at Temple Sheriff’s Station for murder.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
