On 5/8/16, at approximately 2:17 PM, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic accident involving a motorcyclist that had been involved in a collision at 1100 Industrial Blvd, Chula Vista. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that the motorcycle was driven by an adult female.

Witnesses at the scene stated the motorcyclist was riding around in the parking lot and practicing turning maneuvers. The motorcyclist drove onto the sidewalk, between two pillars and struck a parking curb. The motorcyclist lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was unresponsive at the scene and was transported to UCSD Trauma Center to be treated for serious injuries to her face and head.

At the time of the on-scene investigation, it appears speed is a factor in the collision. The motorcyclist did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was an inexperienced rider.

The Chula Vista Police Traffic Division will be conducting the investigation.
